Since our founding in 1996, iKnowMed has been fully dedicated to supporting the practice of Medical Oncology.

The company was founded by Donald W. Simborg, M.D., who is well known in healthcare informatics as the creator of HL-7, the industry-wide communication protocol for healthcare transactions. This founding vision, along with iKnowMed's history, reinforces our mission: to support the complexity of oncology care with superior cancer content and unmatched expertise in healthcare information systems.

In the summer of 2004, iKnowMed was purchased as the proprietary electronic medical record software for US Oncology. In forging this alliance, iKnowMed is now a division of the wide US Oncology network of providers.

iKnowMed has an expert clinical team on staff that includes Oncology Nurse Specialists, and Doctors of Pharmacy and Medical Dentistry. Their combined knowledge, along with the US Oncology iKnowMed Advisory committees, directly impacts the user experience of our system.
